Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

Since the upgrade to Maverick my X freezes randomly. The mouse cursor is still moveable, but the rest of the screen shows otherwise no reaction. Dmesg says:
[ 3371.583827] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: PFIFO_DMA_PUSHER - Ch 2

Xorg.log says:
[ 3382.254] [mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop.

WORKAROUND: Kernel command line nouveau.noaccel=1 the system is stable, but X starts to use loads of CPU (one core to 100%) after a couple of hours which makes the system more or less unuseable until reboot.

Marcus Thiesen, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect 662781

I don't have the T61 any more, so I can not be helpful in analyzing this
bug any further.
