Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdeutils

After upgrading to KDE 4.5 for kubuntu lucid decrypting with kgpg editor does not work any more. Before (plain lucid) it worked.

Procedure
- start kgpg editor (e.g. kpgp -d)
- open an ecrypted file (with ascii armor)
- press decrypt ("Entschlüssel" since I'm using german language)

Instead of showing the decrypted contens, the window is just blanked showing "[Geändert]" (modified) in the kgpg window title.

Decrypting the file with command line tools works fine.

I've allready tried to reset kgpg settings to the default. That did not help.

My packages are up to date. I'm facing that problem for several months now.

I checked ".xsession-errors" but did not find anything usuefull.

Is there any known issue about that?

I've been having this same problem for months. Encryption via the clipboard also fails (KGPG returns the plaintext without encrypting it).

Since there was not that much progress on this issue I downgraded to plain lucid (i.e. removed all the ppa packages and installed kde again). Now kgpg editor is working agin (as expected).

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
