Bug Description
Currently, there are two filename-based methods to select a specific file or files in Nautilus (Elementary).
Method 1: Type-ahead find
The user makes sure that the iconview has input focus and types the filename. The matching file will be selected, and he will be able to navigate to other matches by pressing the arrow keys.
Method 2: "Select items matching" menu option
The user opens "Edit > Select items matching" (or presses Ctrl+S), then types a glob pattern such as "*.png". All matching files will be selected. Using the arrow keys will unselect them all.

What I propose here is that glob patterns become integrated into method 1, so that method 2 can be removed, and the unified behavior would become the following:
Proposed unified method
The user makes sure that the iconview has input focus and types the filename or glob pattern. The matching file(s) will be selected, and he will be able to navigate to other matches by pressing the arrow keys.
