Bug Description
I would like to have support for Matroska container in Firefogg. WebM is a subset of Matroska, and therefore it does not allow some capabilities that the full Matroska container has, like embedded subtitles or multiple tracks for audio or video. I understand that Matroska is not used for HTML5 video, but it would be more useful for local encoding and back-up.

Unless browsers start to support playback of Matroska files, this will not happen. Firefogg is focused on creating html5 videos. Some features rely on the fact that the browser is able to play back the encoded video. Encoding in formats/containers not supported by the browsers would make this to complicated.
