Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I have installed the maverick fonts i.e. ttf-ubuntu-
i can do ctrl+shift+u20b9 in xchat,abiword,
But this is not working in open office

Abhijit Navale, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. In Ubuntu 10.10, LibreOffice Calc I clicked Insert -> Special Character... -> Font dropdown box Ubuntu -> Subset dropdown box Currency Symbol -> U+20B9 -> OK button.
