X freezes after log out (network available)

Bug Description
When using the log out functionality of gdm X does not start up again. The system is stuck. The only way to access the system is via network, e.g. ssh.
When system is stuck the screen shows wired points on a mostly black screen.
Note that if i not click on log out the system works well.
