X freezes after log out (network available)

Bug Description

When using the log out functionality of gdm X does not start up again. The system is stuck. The only way to access the system is via network, e.g. ssh.

When system is stuck the screen shows wired points on a mostly black screen.

Note that if i not click on log out the system works well.

Hallo,

as far as i know dell-wmi has to do with hotkeys. The unknown keys that appear in dmesg are not related to this bug. they appeared in former ubuntu versions, too.

Hi,

the problem lies in KMS. When turning it off [1] the problem does not occur. So i found a workaround.

Now i tried to reproduze the bug using the radeonhd driver. Using this driver log out works fine. Contact me in case you need further information.
