Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

As of Brasero 2.32.0 in Ubuntu 10.10, brasero displays the message "Please replace the disk with a supported CD or DVD" (as shown on the attached screen shot), although it could not detect

a) any disc at all or
b) not even a CD/DVD burner

It points to this fact by saying "No disc available", but both messages on one screen are simply conflicting.

Suggested fix: Make a distinction between the cases:

- "No Burner selected"
- "No drives found"
- "No medium inserted"
- "Inserted medium is not writeable"

 and display appropiate error messages.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.

Sorry, but I don't have a separate test machine with 11.04 installed to reproduce this problem. It would be very helpful though if someone else who has such an environment could verify this.

I tried to reproduce it in a VM running 11.04 though, and there the behavior seems to be the same (see new screenshot)
