Hi kakaroto, this seems to be a good feature request, since the download directory perhaps shoud be the Download in ubuntu and not the amsn_received!

what do you think about?

Mark as invalid/already_fixed...

The latest version (and I think it's been for a while), aMSN reads ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs and takes the download directory from the XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR setting. The XDG user dirs, is a freedesktop standard, and we follow it correctly. (If XDG_CONFIG_HOME environment variable, then we read the ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME}/user-dirs.dirs file instead).
The "amsn_received" directory is only used as a fallback, if there is no XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR setting.
However, for obvious reasons, this only affects "new" users of aMSN. If you are upgrading, then your download dir settings will remain the same, for obvious reasons. Note that, you can always change the download directory by going to aMSN's Preferences window, in the "Others" tab.
If Ubuntu is correctly configured, then aMSN should use the ~/Downloads path by default.
