Bug Description
Binary package hint: brasero
The computer is ACER desktop (3.0GHz Intel Core i3-540, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD) model AM3910-2512.
Both 64 bit and 32 bit versions of Ubuntu 10.10 do not complete installation on this machine. The installation is attempted from a CD burned here which loads fine, allows to use the demonstration package but the installation fails.
This computer is new. It came with Windows 7 OS.
The 64 bit installation hangs up on statement "Ready when you are..." and keeps repeating in the terminal window below: "Ubuntu wpa_supplicant [2060]: Failed to initiate AP scan."
The 32 bit version hangs up on the same statement "Ready when you are..." but no completion buttons become available.
THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE SINCE THE ORIGINAL WINDOWS 7 IS WIPED OUT FROM THE HARD DRIVE BY THE ATTEMPTED INSTALLATION OF UBUNTU 10.10.
I had the "download recent updates" option selected when the installation was attempted.
