Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10
brasero:
  Installed: 2.32.0-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 2.32.0-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 2.32.0-0ubuntu2 0
        500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
At attempt to launch brasero, both from the file system submenus and from the applications menu fail. The application does not start.

I expected to be able to burn a new iso boot cd.
Nothing happened at all, except the system recognized by blank CD-R

This package was working before this release. Why did you 'fix' it?

Comment: There are a number of decor changes in this release that undoubtedly took several man-hours of development time, but were truly unneeded. You are starting to look like a branch of Microsoft.

Program runs correctly from CLI.

Clearly, something serious has happened to your implementation of xorg and related items. Not only have several programs failed to perform in the GUI environment, but you have also broken my nvidia-96 driver, disabling my high graphics environment.

This release should have been held back, no matter what the marketing people wanted.

The disk I just burned was for openSUSE.

I am sorry, it was all lost in a system crash yesterday. In light of events, I had to format my disks, and I lost my archives as well, which puts me back to square zero. I was so disgusted with 10.10 that I retreated to 10.04 LTS.

Frankly, 10.10 has overtones of Vista. Rushed on to the scene for some purpose other than providing the best software for its users.
