Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-media
Hi there,
I have switched from 9.04 to 10.10 and am trying to get used to the new way of adjusting sound volume, since the old mixer panel has disappeared, now replaced the full blown sound preferences GUI. I am having problem with the mast control at the top of the GUI. It's not quite clear how it works. When I set the volume to the max using the panel applet, the slider in the preferences GUI only goes maybe two thirds to the right (the non-functioning % indicator doesn't help figure things out...). It seems (I assume ?) this slider can somehow how amplify and go above 100%, but it would save headaches and confusion if this was made visually obvious from the start.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http:// www.ubuntu. com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
