Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10 x86 in VirtualBox 3.2.10 with guest additions installed.

Visual effects are enabled via right clicking on desktop -> 'Change Desktop Background' -> 'Visual Effects' tab. This problem happens when visual effects are set to both 'Normal' and 'Extra'.

When dragging any window to a panel so that the window snaps to the panel, the window can no longer be unsnapped. Instead, when clicking on the title bar and dragging, the window just moves to the right, no matter which direction the mouse is moved in.

The problem can be worked around by temporarily switching off visual effects, moving the window and then switching visual effects back on but this isn't in any way practical for day to day use.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
