Is this still happening in 11.04? Can you run "sh -x /var/lib/dpkg/info/chrony.postinst" and see why it fails?

Hi! Christian,

Since upgrading to 11.04 'Natty', I have experienced similar issues with chrony as well as a number of other issues, the worst being freeze-ups of the system.

As I am unable to get out of the system freezes, I cannot run any other programs, let alone a terminal.

The only way of getting out of the freeze-ups is to press the reset button on my PC and re-booting, losing anything I was doing at the time of system freeze.

I am very dissapointed about ubuntu going to Unity rather than Gnome 3, which is great on another PC with another Distro installed.

I wish to remain with ubuntu, but unless unity is dropped, I will have no option other than move to another distro.

UNITY SUCKS, so many freeze-ups, it's like running Windows again.

Apart from Chrony in 10.4, no other issues found in other ubuntu's eg:. 10.10, which ran perfectly.

Cheers

Computer freezes / issues with Unity surely belong to another bug report, right? :-) If chrony is running fine in 10.10 though, that's good news...

Hi Vladim,
I worked on Chrony in 18.04 and it is quite good now IMHO.
Given that 10.04 is EOL for quite some time I'll mark this bug incomplete.

Please if you still have/find an issue in it these days please let us know.
It will unlikely be the same bug, so if you do I'd recommend you open a new bug for those.
