Thank you for making Ubuntu better. Could you please attach an example .mp4 file that does not work correctly if you have one that you can legally share? Thank you.

Changed in gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu):

I have the same problem.
Just a thought bbordwell - do you have a small MP4 video that you could attach here for us to test against? That is probably going to be a better way than trying to attach a hi-def 300-1200Mb file of ours?

I'll happily run the test and add a listing of everything you want to this log whenever you want.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry - forgot to add:
I've been using Ubuntu since 7.10 and have had it installed on the same netbook (an MSI Wind variant) updating every time - this is the first pulse-audio issue that I've had, so I don't think that it's an issue with an unsupported card or whatnot.

Anoyingly the Quick Time test works fine for me also.

I still get the error with the 3 files I tried to open yesterday, all 3 play fine in VLC.

I don't know if this will help here is the CODEC info:

Stream 0
   Type: Audio
   Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
   Language: English
   Channels: 3F2R/LFE
   Sample rate: 48000 Hz

Stream 1
   Type: Video
   Codec: MPEG-4 Video (mp4v)
   Language: English
   Resolution: 720x576
   Frame rate: 25

I poked around the interweb a little but could not find a test file that would throw the error.
