The file
 /usr/share/doc/mpd-sound-menu/README
currently only contains:

You're looking at the Readme. Readme is looking at you.

It would be really cool if there was some content in it, i.e. if it would describe how to setup username/password for mpd.

I think it'll never be fixed. I know nothing useful what should be placed in that readme. Username/password/host are described in the mpd-sound-menu manpage, which is available since 0.2.

Couldn't you just remove it then?
Btw, I did not find the manpage in the bzr repository.

No, I think that traditional set of files (INSTALL, README, AUTHORS, COPYING) is fun and important. So let it remains in the current state until we have some stuff to put into.

Manpage is lying in the res/ directory: res/mpd-sound-menu.1
