Bug Description

Binary package hint: lirc

In 10.04 lirc worked perfectly with my USB-UIRT using the driver uirt2. After upgrading to 10.10 lirc no longer works. Every time I press a button on my remote I get the following message in syslog:

lircd-0.8.7-pre3[1336]: uirt2: timeout reading byte X

irrecord doesn't work either. The buttons are no longer recognized correctly.

I tried several things:
rebooting
standby/wakeup
reinstall lirc
different lirc driver (usb_uirt_raw and uirt2_raw)

nothing worked...

Then my wife had an excellent idea: just unplug this shitty thing and plug it again...

And what can I say?

It worked again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems my USBUIRT was somehow "confused".

Everything is fine now. No bug in lirc!
