Bug Description

The touchpad on my Sony Vaio is not recognized after either booting from the live CD, or after a fresh install. A USB mouse works when connected. Below is the result of cat /proc/bus/input/devices, the bottom option being the USB mouse that I have attached to the laptop.

I have now tested booting from several different flavours of live CD & the touchpad does not work for any of them. I have since come across Bug #641320 which looks to be the same issue I am having. I will mark this as a duplicate of Bug #641320.
