Bug Description

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

After Upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10 i can't hear any sound,

I reinstalled all ALSA and pulseaudio related packages and restart my pc

no i hear a sound when i talk on the microphone,

but i cann't hear any sound from any applications (rythmbox, mplayer, firefox alsa plugin)

Please help my ASAP

Please see:

Do you intend to use the spdif output or "normal" analog
speaker/headphones? It's currently set for the former.

Then you need to change the output to reflect your intended output. See the
sound preferences.
