After updating to Ubuntu 10.10, enabling flyspell-mode in emacs gives me the following error:

According to the discussion in the Fedora bug it seems a problem related to the default spelling procedure in the operating system, which I don't know if it has changed from Lucid to Maverick.
Ways to reproduce:
1) Open emacs
2) Esc-x flyspell-mode
