Bug Description

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

When resuming a paused file in Totem, there is something wrong in the first milliseconds. It sounds as if the last played buffer is replayed, then there is a few ms skip (with no sound) before the song starts playing normally.

Please check whether this is actually a hardware issue:

[ 26.153037] ACPI: EC: GPE storm detected, transactions will use polling mode

affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) → linux (Ubuntu)

How can I check that?

Playing audio from flash works without issues (except for horrible latency), so I'm guessing this is a problem with gstreamer or totem. Surely it's not a hardware problem when it's working correctly in other software?

Tested on 32-bit Zenwalk with gstreamer-alsa (no pulseaudio) and there is no problem. Which tells me it's a problem with pulseaudio, or the pulseaudio backend of gstreamer.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
