I have a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 and it is extremely sensitive in vertical scrolling. Example is - on a webpage, I will be reading a document and using the scroll wheel will move the side bar to the bottom of the page in one scroll.

This seems to be fixed now, not sure what patch did it.

In oneiric this problem persist. The workaround works too.

I have created a userland application that resets this behavior in several Microsoft Mice on boot.

I have confirmed it works in Microsoft Wirless Mice Models 3500 & 5000.

If you able to compile an application with a configure script, you can download the source code here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/resetmsmice/files/

I will be making Ubuntu and Fedora packages shortly and will post them here as well.
