Intel 82801I audio lags massively after update to Maverick (r.c.)

Bug Description

After updating to Maverick r.c. today the audio playback from every program lags massively. Sometimes at once sometimes after 2..3 minutes. Under Lucid no problems.

can you please run in a terminal
sudo apt-get clean
then from synaptic mark for reinstallation pulseaudio and related libs

Hi!

Same bug for me. Reinstalling didn't help. Everything was fine with Lucid, but the massive lags started with Maverick.

Update from here: It did not help for long, the lagging is back a day later. :-(

Oh yeah, I used a Pulse Audio PPA (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive/ppa), but the problem still exists with this version. And also without it.

Newer kernel solved my problem. Using 2.6.36 now.

ATM I run the old kernel from 10.04. This works, but cannot be a real solution.
What is the state here?

Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick) reached end-of-life on April 10, 2012.
And Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) reached end-of-life on May 9, 2013.
