system hangs when switching from vt to graphical vt7

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

When switching back from text console to graphical console 7, the system freezes.
Graphic card is a radeon mobility 9000 with 32MB

This is a regression from gnome-settings-daemon 2.32.0-0ubuntu1.

But this update solves the bug of a partial corrupted login screen (see attached file login.jpg)

solved ... there was a xorg.conf file with wrong virtual dimensions (automaticly created during tests for dual screen support). After removing the xorg-file the problem is gone away

thank you for your bug report, what makes you think it's a gsd bug? gsd doesn't do anything specific on vt switch
