Bug Description

Binary package hint: gftp

If I open a remote file for editing (using gedit) gftp freezes/hangs. By freezing/hanging I mean the program becomes unresponsive and if I move a window that sits on top of gftp, the area in which the window sat shows grey (when I should be seeing the gftp window). The only thing I can do is right click -> close which brings up the message "gftp is not responding, do you want to wait or force quit?". Starting the program within the terminal outputs no error messages/warnings (i.e. absolutely nothing), until I have to force quit the application, in which case it simply says 'Killed'.

I think I have found the critical condition in which this hanging occurs:- if two (or multiple) files are opened (using two tabs of gedit), one of which is for editing, and then changes are made and then saved, closing gedit (which has two different files open) then causes it to hang, at the point where I suspect gftp normally (if it was a single file) ask you to upload it.
