Empathy message notifications appear twice for the same message

Empathy message notifications show up if the chat window is not open normally, but when you click on the message in the MeMenu the pop up notification for the same set of messages that you were notified for before opening the window shows up again.

I found a workaround for this bug. Uncheck the option: "Enable notifications when the chat is not focused" in "Preferences>Notifcations
