echo $TERM says it's "dumb" instead of "linux" or "xterm"

Accordim to this bug report https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/21007 xfce4-terminal has a nasty bug that make you unable to open a text editor inside it. No matter what you put in the variable at terminal configuration, it always keep the "dumb" one.
