thanks for the bug report. there have a few issues in the past too. i.e. indicator-sound was not installed on people's system after upgrade. can you please check if indicator-sound is installed? you can check that by doing 'apt-cache-policy' in a terminal. if its not installed try 'sudo apt-get install indicator-sound' logout and then login again.

Yeah it's installed, that's why I didn't comment in the related report. Here
is the output:

vadi@vadi-laptop:~$ apt-cache-policy indicator-sound
apt-cache-policy: command not found
vadi@vadi-laptop:~$ apt-cache policy indicator-sound

can you right click on the panel, click 'add to panel' search for 'indicator applet' and add it. if its not there try install indicator-applet.

I was able to add it back. So the bug report is that it was removed during
the update, while it should not have been.

did you get an applet crash? if the applet got removed it's not the indicator-applet fault in any case, either it's gnome-panel which changed its configuration or it crashed and you didn't click on "reload"

There was no crash report. It just removed itself. I just reported the bug
because the ubuntu.com page asked me. Instead, yet again, it seems no
feedback was really wanted and all bug reports are invalidated when the dev
reaches a state of content.

Really should stop misleading people into saying they should report QA bugs
and wasting their time, to be honest.

Hi Vadim,

Sorry about that. I assure you all bug reports are useful. Even if to just confirm a previously reported bug of a similar description. Good to see everything is working now.
