Bug Description

Binary package hint: language-selector

- boot on a live-CD of Ubuntu 10.10 RC
- go to System->Administration->Language (or type "gnome-language-selector" in a terminal)
- install the Japanese Input Methods (only the input methods, not the translation packages)
- when installation is finished, the window becomes busy (you can see the mouse cursor stays round when above the window) and the window decoration disappears, and there is an error in the terminal. See the screenshot number 1 attached.
- if I close the language-selector window, the language-selector remains in the bottom panel.

See the 3 screenshots attached.

I could reproduced each time I tryed, with and without launching by terminal.

Hope this helps making Ubuntu and Gnome better !

FYI

i did NOT reproduce the bug on a fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.10 RC (today's daily) 32 bit in VirtualBox. The output in the terminal was the same, so this output may not be linked to the bug.

I had a similar bug (on a installation in VirtualBox virtual disk, not live-cd) when cancelling the authentification : see Bug #655094
