Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

After today's updates, the gnome-panel at the bottom of the screen is painting incorrectly. Take a look at the screen shot. There is a horizontal bar that looks like some kind of gradient fill gone awry. The screen shot is of the bottom of my display.

Did you try changing the panel background to a solid color? Did you have a custom panel background set before the update?

I went back and took a closer look. Indeed my wife had set a custom background. I set it to use the theme default and the blur/gradient problem went away. However, a new problem showed. When I made the change, I got a rectangle that was not painted in the panel - see new screen-shot - of lower left hand corner of my screen. Their is an unpainted area just to the right of the Close All Windows applet.

That is common. Try moving the little window switcher point a little further from the "close all windows" button.
