Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

Already reported in GNOME and Fedora:

The Cancel button in GDM can't be translated. The attached patch uses a stock
GTK Cancel button instead of a custom one. This way the translations will be
taken from GTK, the string freeze won't be broken and it won't require any
changes from the translators. The Cancel button was broken by git commit
706a532d, this patch essentially reverts the .ui file part of that commit.

There is a Fedora bug for this issue as well:

Similar problem for bn-IN as well. The log-in button is however translated, but Cancel is displayed in English.

This string is not present in gdm upstream. Any pointers about where we should be looking for this?

Thanks.

Fix translations of the Cancel button

This patch should fix the Cancel button issue. I've also sent this patch to the gdm mailing list: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gdm-list/2010-September/msg00013.html . This is a regression introduced by git commit 706a532d.

It's my pleasure!

I need to track down another bug, in the exact same window there is a
"Password:" label which is untranslatable as well, can you help me track it
down?
Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Yaron Shahrabani.

Does this issue still persist in f15?
If not, you need to contact your language coordinator in GNOME upstream to commit your fix into repo.
