Menu fonts in OOo get garbled randomly - and garbling carries on to other GTK apps

Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

In OpenOffice 3.2.1 for Lucid, the menu fonts will randomly get garbled. Menu fonts are supposed to be static instead of becoming "garbage characters", and this problem can become a serious interface glitch. The only workaround I've found is to minimize the window, wait a few seconds, and open the window again (this will randomly un-garble the fonts sometimes). Here is a sample of the effect in action, and how it propagates to other elements of the OS: http://ur1.ca/1xs9r
