Hi,

For maverick I will not supporting eee-control myself anymore. Eee-control's source is at the moment such a mess because of the many hacks from different people that I would not be able to fix all its problems, especially because of my little time.

For Maverick I suggest to switch to Jupiter (jupiter.sourceforge.net) which has next to the .deb for the Jupiter program itself also has an additional .deb just for extra eeepc support. Jupiter is much more neat and reliable at the moment and provides the same featureset.

If somebody wants to take over the maintenance of eee-control, please send me a message.

Changed in eee-control:
importance: Undecided → High
status: New → Won't Fix

Could you please add a note on http://greg.geekmind.org/eee-control/ pointing to Jupiter? Took me a while to find this ticket when I was looking for the latest eee-control.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am not the maintainer of that site (Greg is). Since Greg never did respond to my messages about eee-control, I also think he would (unfortunately) also not reply to this message either.

The version of eee-control here maintained on launchpad was always based on his version, but with lots of patches applied to make eee-control work for different Eeepc versions. He never did respond to the messages trying to get those merged into upstream.

eee-control 0.9.6 from http://greg.geekmind.org/eee-control/ still works on Maverick. I'll use it, as for me, Jupiter is not usable since it depends on mono.

Correction - eee-control-0.9.6.5 from the Lucid ppa is preferable, as the one from the site doesn't properly support the Asus eeePC 1101HA.
