Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve MythTV and Ubuntu by opening this ticket. Others that have encountered a similar problem have noticed that changing playback profiles to one that does NOT use XvMC has resolved this issue. Could you please try that, and perhaps other profile options, and report back?

If that fixes it, then this may be a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythtv/+bug/660833
