Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-settings-
I'm using multiple keyboard layouts. The current layout for the currently active window used to be identified with an abbreviation (e.g., "USA" or "Rus") along the top of the screen.
When I went from Lucid to Maverick beta, however, the layout indicator was replaced with a generic "keyboard" icon. I can see/change the current layout by left-clicking on this keyboard icon and viewing a list of radio buttons, but the old automatic indication of which layout is currently active is gone.
When using several keyboard layouts, this indication was extremely helpful, and the loss of this feature is (in my view) a serious regression which is likely to delay or prevent my adoption of Maverick.
Appears to be a duplicate of bug #531173.
