Have you tried to kill gwibber-service and then starts manually (exit and enter to your session is the same behaviour?) ?

I will close this report because gwibber is not using desktopcouch as backend and gwibber developers won't fix this issue under 2.30 series, so please upgrade to a new release from ppa or distro upgrade. Thanks in advance.
