Bug Description

I've just upgraded to 1.2.2 and just launching the application, I see on "top" openshot using from 50% to 80% doing nothing.

I'm using Gentoo with gtk+2.20.1-r1 (I thought it was the gtk+ version)

Try changing the "sdl" option in the preferences to "sdl_preview". The "sdl" mode constantly renders the current frame, even if the video is paused or not doing anything. This happens in the libraries we use, and is not something we can fix in OpenShot. Thanks!

Marking as invalid because this behavior is by design, and can not be fixed in our code.

Changed in openshot:

Sure, I'm wasting kilowatts because "by design" OpenShot uses 100% CPU doing nothing.

I had the same problem and sdl_preview fixed it. ( Ubuntu 12.04, Openshot 1.4.3).

Would it be better to have sdl_preview as the default ? It took me about a month to find out why it kept randomly crashing. It's much better now.
