Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

This bug takes user , in my case , ronron was the administrator user, my name was Ron , root now is owned by ronronRonron , password ( ? ) In the past I used "ron " the bug simply added a ron to make ronron . Time-outs ? Dialing in part of a password & timing out ? It all festers in .gvfs ,/etc/ user/shared/orbit sometimes /tmp/tmp added , but not this time , from my wired net , hitching a ride in on a ligament download , turning the OS against itself . ( you don't own it , permission denied ) No package manager , no net manager . This BUG keeps changing , each time I reinstall , I'm not that computer literate enough to get ahead of it . I regroup format reinstall & I'm facing a new version . This BUG does not like " snort " I can download it , but wont let it install completely . gufw & ufw status enabled but it's not , no logs no intrusion warning . Firestarter tells me I'm being probed & has blocked many . 80 , 8080 , 22 , 443 is wide open , if I close-off 443 NO NET . My address is 10.202.46.1/3 , in whois today said it was 66.205.144.72 . Host has been 66.60.130.2 with a .6 for search , today 66.185.138.245 , there's a dial out installed to 214-748-3647 in my users and groups . The first thing shutdown is updates & downloads next to falter is permissions . That's the starting of the end . Ubuntu 10.4 is great love-it , I think , I'm reasonable sure my 64 bit is being turned to 32 and vise-versa . I'm not going to mark vulnerability , you folks do that , I'll say this , this install of 10.4 was buggy on the install 4 days ago , so I loaded 10.10 on a usb drive , losing control of it with in hours . Back on this 10.4 . Stayed off net & tried to delete , nousregroup , proxy , nopasswordlogin , & other stuff . .gvfs in hidden wasn't used in this bug version but /tmp/orbit - x 7 or 8 or more different long strings > whatis ( nothing appropriate ) is evident . This 3 1/2 or 4 days is a record , alas not much longer . when I reboot grub will be missing . I think this bug let me get part of my IPTables loaded & enabled , I feel like a Guinea pig or lab-rat some times . One of the reasons I'm still here is I have a group open in users & groups I can't change anything & they ...I mean this bug can't finish me off . Are we having fun yet . Long live our Republic , thank God for Linux .

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.
