Bug Description

Binary package hint: tcsh

With the variables set in ~/.tcshrc:

set history=500
set savehist=499

and a shell open in gnome-terminal, xterm, urxvt, etc., with commands typed in, it does
not save into .history when a reboot or shutdown is performed.

It is saved if the terminal is exited with rebooting, shutting down.

This does not occur in preview versions of Ubuntu.

I have the same problem. No history saved. In a forum thread a solution was mentioned saying that the history would be saved if the terminal is closed with ctrl+d or by typing "exit" instead of with the x-close-button. Nevertheless, this doesn't work for me either...
