Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

Plasma-desktop always runs-away, occupying 10%CPU and escalating RAM usage to about 700MB (no disk activity associated.) This happens from login, regardless of my .kde folder configuration (I tried removing the folder and tested,) so this can't be related to any custom activity or widget layout.

the desktop activity doesn't display for about 5 minutes while the process takes all of the RAM, however the widgets are active and function normally (the network widget connects to my wifi, even though I can't see it.)

If I try to reconfigure the activity the process stalls, and then crashes. If I restart the process after the crash the same thing runaway problem occurs.

I would have attached the full report but it was 700mb

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
