Bug Description

Binary package hint: avant-window-navigator

In the latest Maverick, the AWN terminal plugin does't act as it's supposed to, for instance:
* If you enter 'clear' the result is 'TERM environment variable not set.'
* When trying to open something with 'nano' the result is 'Error opening terminal: unknown.'.

I test this in three separate Maverick installations and the result was the same on all of them. (In case there's any difference, all of them were 64bit pcs)

This might be a duplicate of bug #621927.

However, I can't reproduce this with latest updates on Ubuntu 10.10 i386 and packaged awn-extras. "clear", "nano" and "echo $TERM" work as expected.

Hi there, I'm still getting the same error with the latest updates.

fido@fido-laptop:~$ echo $TERM

Then this is a dup of Bug #621927. As a workaround you have to type this in terminal:
export TERM=xterm
