Konqueror doesn't display chinese page correctly with en_US

update: i notice it's caused by installing msttcorefonts package

I used fontconfig-voodoo -f -s zh_CN to set preferred fonts of simplified chinese. Konqueror doesn't display chinese fonts well in all chinese pages. like http://www.mindmeters.com or http://www.google.com/intl/zh-CN/ under en_US. if i change locale to zh_CN, then it'll be fine

by the way, it's the problem since kde 3.5, if i can remenber correctly

konqueror doesn't want to display chinese font at all. if i remove japanese fonts, then the page will be all boxes.

Do you mean en_US or en_US.UTF-8?

in additional, it's only the konqueror rendering issue. on desktop, if i choose font as "Sans Serif" "Serif" or "Monospace", according to the prefer-list in /etc/fonts/language-selector.conf, chinese font is correctly picked up

i noticed, this is caused by installing msttcorefont package. otherwise, display appear to be right

I can confirm this problem, I am trying to manipulate font.conf or other fontconfig setup files. However, no matter what I did, Konquorer always fails to display Chinese correctly as long as I have msttcorefonts on board.
