Bug Description
Binary package hint: unity
if mutter crashes while a gnome-terminal is running, the terminal will crash too:
Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'gnome-terminal' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 3256 error_code 3 request_code 18 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
aborting...
I'm not sure when this started but it wasn't always that way. I tested other applications (gedit, chromium, nautilus, xchat) and they don't crash.
I used bug 595452 as a feature to crash mutter, but it doesn't seem to matter how/why mutter crashes, eg. https:/
Sorry if I picked the wrong package.

this might not actually be a bug in unity. this comment https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ gnome-terminal/ +bug/622521/ comments/ 5 says the crash happened with a crash of gnome-shell (?). there is another bug reported against gnome-terminal marking this duplicate and opening a unity task there.
