Bug Description

Binary package hint: ttf-indic-fonts

Malayalam font chillu letters assign new Encoding as per Unicode 5.1 . But Ubuntu still update these changes .fonts Meera and Rachana used for Malayalam in Ubuntu. please update these fonts. Updated fonts attach with this bug .

Upstream had released latest version of font and had addressed this. Please use http://packages.debian.org/sid/fonts-smc , Package: fonts-smc (5.0-1)

Note that ttf-malayalam-fonts is getting removed from Debian , it is renamed to fonts-smc. Same is the case for all font packages in ttf-indic-fonts
