FR: be able to show/hide info_area

Bug Description

Gotta make this quick and run, just a diff for implementing show/hide of info_area from preferences->appearence

Im not real happy with where I had to do the initial show/hide on app start but couldn't find any kind of property to set on info_area when its created for its display status (looking in gtk docs). I also dont know much about gtk ;)

this diff is against trunk (which has the previous diff patched in already) and fixes the funky expansion of playlist when info_area is hidden on launch
