cvs [update aborted]: cannot stat /var/lock/cvs: No such file or directory

Bug Description

Binary package hint: cvs

workaround is just to create /var/lock/cvs, but the bug reappears. Something removes the directory.

Not a bug in cvs (at least not the next package): the lock directory is set in $CVSROOT/CVSROOT/config – please change it. /var/lock is an in-memory filesystem, I think.
