Bug Description

Ubuntu 10.04 after installation all I get is a "no user id" error. I've tried live cd, wubi, usb install, cd install and all report the same error on my desktop machine. Installed fine with the same media on my HP pavilion zd4430 laptop successfully. I was hoping this would be the release that would finally convince me to switch to Ubuntu from Windows...not yet.

I can provide no further information because I can only reboot at this point and continue to get the same error. I have absolutely no access to Ubuntu to try any debug steps. No "recovery" boot option available.
