Bug Description
By default, Firefox does not have Auto-Scrolling and Smooth Scrolling by default. This makes it seem like the middle click is 'broken'.
There are numerous threads on the forum about this:

Clearly, this is a big problem, and the first thing I have to fix after any install I do.
The fix is very simple: Enable these two options! Tada! Feels like it's supposed to. It seems like a lot of linux-heads don't notice this one because it's been broken for so long, but for anybody coming from the big W, this is totally crucial.

Thanks a lot for reporting this bug. Ordinarily, a request for a new feature (which this is) would not be considered a papercut, but in this case it sounds like a simple case of changing a few values from 'false' to 'true' in the Firefox configuration files, so I'm going to mark this as a valid papercut.
