Font doesn't install properly.

Installation of the Consolas font (truetype font), the font does not work properly.

I could not install the font via drag-and-drop to fonts:///, had to paste it on the /usr/share/fonts/truetype. Even thought, It did not render correctly (I got overlapping characters).

For It to work, I had to place on the ~/.fonts directory.

I'm sure this is not a problem of the font, as it works on windows and previews nicely when you double click it.

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? What didn't work with the drag and drop? There is a known issue that you need to refresh the view to have the new font listed, is that your problem with it?

I had already installed all the fonts manually. I've removed one of them, and ran sudo fc-cache, and the font disappeared from the system.

Them, I've tried to drag and drop it to the fonts:/// folders. After I drop the font there, nothing happens. I've refreshed the fonts:/// folder(F5), but the font is not there.

I even closed nautilus and opened it again, but no luck.

I would post the font here, (Candara.ttf), but it's copyrighted... :( I'm having this issue with some of the new Microsoft fonts (the ones I've tried to install)

I'm using Ubuntu dapper 6.06

Do you have the font copied to .fonts after the dnd? Does it work with an another font?

didn't had the time to check while still on 6.10

However, on Feisty, drag and drop works (almost, it just doesn't show your font on the folder on realtime) AND the font consolas now renders correctly.
