Bug Description

I have an Apple magic mouse that worked fine with 10.04 but didn't have the scrolling. I upgraded to 10.10 and now a mouse click does not always work. On windows and some objects it works, but on other objects (buttons etc. ) it doesn't respond to the click.

I use a laptop and can use the mouse buttons on the laptop in combination with the magic mouse but sometimes the mouse does not update the location of the mouse.

I just updated now but so far it seems to work perfectly, including the scroll!

Hm, spoke a little too soon. The mouse generally works fine but there is still some odd behavoir in Chrome.

* If I click on the tab by clicking on the right of the mouse I get the aleternative right-click behavoir, as expected.
* If I click on the tab by clicking on the left of the mouse then the tabs are selected, as expected.

However,

* If I click on the tab by clicking the middle of the mouse then the tab closes.

Hello
Sorry, but i haven't this kind of mouse, so can you explain well:
* If I click on the tab by clicking the middle of the mouse then the tab closes.
- What have to do instead ?
-Is this problem limited only to Chromium or every apps.
-Have you tried with another browser?
Thanks
Fabio

Hi,

The weird mouse behaviour is a problem Google Chrome has in Ubuntu. Default behaviour is that the middle mouse button closes a tab and you can't turn this off. There are not enough settings for the mouse and none in Chrome to turn off the middle mouse click. This is a problem with an Apple Magic Mouse because it has no buttons - it is touch sensitive instead and it is easy to click too far to the right on the mouse surface and accidentally close a tab.

So you can close this bug. :)

However, I would like a feature that enables me to turn off the middle mouse button! :P
