The Apple Magic Trackpad is currently grabbed by the X synaptics input module. To enable multitouch support in Maverick, it needs to be grabbed by the X evdev input module. An extra file (/usr/share/
This bug is dependent on bug 628214. The change for this bug may be uploaded before the xorg-server bug is fixed, but it will not have any effect.

I have verified that with an updated evdev package but current xserver-xorg package there are no regressions nor changes. With an update xserver-xorg package with a fix for bug 628214 the Magic Trackpad is correctly grabbed by evdev instead of synaptics.
